Prof. Zheng Liu obtained his bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in chemical engineering from Tsinghua University in 1987, 1989 and 1993, respectively. He worked as a UNESCO Research Fellow at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, during 1993 to 1994 and served as a Professor at department of chemical engineering, Tsinghua University since 1998. Prof. Zheng Liu has served as the dean of the chemical engineering, Tsinghua University from 1999 to 2006, Vice president of Xinjiang University from 2011 to 2014. He is now serving as a steering committee member for both chemical engineering undergraduate program and graduate program, Ministry of Education. His current research focuses on chemical and biomolecular engineering with special interests in 1) AI assisted molecular and process engineering of industrial enzymes; 2) electric field intensified enzymatic processes and 3) novel prebiotics, and has resulted in 200 peer-reviewed journal papers. He has supervised over 50 graduate students, one of which received the National Best PhD Dissertation Award in 2008. Prof. Liu was awarded as Chang Jiang Scholars Professor of biochemical engineering, Ministry of Education, in 2012.
